Thanks to the various rumours about her impending marriage to industrialist Varun Manian, Trisha has been sacked from actor Jai’s upcoming film as his heroine. In her place, Surabhi of Ivan Veramathiri and Velaiyilla Pattathari fame has been cast.
Regional press has been reporting for the past few days that Trisha had been engaged to Manian, with whom she had been on friendly terms. Trisha and her mother Uma were vehement in denying the rumours. Trisha even dismissed them saying that as and when her marriage would be finalized, she would let the whole world be aware of it.
However, rumours of affairs/marriage of actresses are not taken so lightly by producers and directors as they are wary of not only the film’s future at the box-office in case the actress gets married before the film hits the screen but also about the continuation of the actress’ interest in these films. Social media even released pictures of Manian and Trisha caught in a passionate hug.
Manimaran, an erstwhile assistant who worked under the national-award winning director Vetrimaaran and who debuted as director with last year’s successful venture Udhayam NH4, is making his second film as director after a gap of one-and-a-half years with Podiyan which had Jai and Trisha in the lead. Rumours of marriage have cost Trisha the film as she has now been replaced by Surabhi.
Cinematographer Velraj, who debuted successfully as director in Velaiyilla Pattathari, handles the camera in Podiyan.
