A.R. Murugadoss, obviously relieved at the box-office success of his latest directorial venture Kaththi which faced many controversies prior to its release, is making quite a few films nowadays as a producer. One of his upcoming films has been titled as Rangoon and would star Gautham Karthik in the lead.
Murugadoss would be making Rangoon jointly with Fox Star Studios and is introducing Rajkumar Periyasamy, an erstwhile assistant director working under him, as a debutant director in Kollywood. Anirudh Ravichander would be scoring the film’s music while M. Sugumar would be the cinematographer.
Murugadoss sounds confident of the film’s success in theatres. “It’s a film for the youths and made by youths. Gautham Karthik, an youth icon, plays the lead role in the film. His creativity and attitude would be a huge plus for the film. As and when it is released in a few months from now, Rangoon would be liked by audiences irrespective of the gender and age barrier,” says the diminutive Murugadoss.
