Vishal, actor-producer who is at loggerheads with the Nadigar Sangam on various issues, has told Sangam’s president and actor-politician Sarathkumar that he should first consider sacking Radha Ravi and Kaalai (respectively the general secretary and vice-president of the Sangam) before sacking him for their ill-mannered comments on actors.
Vishal was replying to Sarathkumar’s statement made a couple of days ago when the latter had said that he won’t hesitate to dismiss Vishal from the Sangam for spreading misinformation campaign about the Sangam’s activities.
In his statement, Vishal has said: “I was shocked by the statement of Sarathkumar, the president of the Sangam, about dismissing me. I respect each member of the Sangam and if the members choose collectively to keep me away from the Sangam, I’m ready to accept such a decision.
“However, before dismissing me, the Sangam ought to prove beyond doubt the reasons for taking such an extreme step. I had been deeply hurt by the talk by Radha Ravi and Kaalai, the general secretary and the vice-president of the Sangam.
In particular, their comment of artistes being ‘dogs’ has haurt me deeply. As per the provisions of Rule 13 governing the Sangam’s functions, action can be initiated against Radha Ravi and Kaalai.
“Some time back, action was taken against senior actor Kumarimuthu and he was kept away from the Sangam for his comments against the Sangam and its members. I now want a similar action against Radha Ravi and Kaalai as they also come under the purview of the laws governing the Sangam. Let Sarathkumar take action against them first before zeroing in on me,” Vishal’s statement concluded.
