Prabhu Solomon has been lying low for a long time now. After making the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Kumki in 2012, he is now gearing up for the theatrical release of his next directorial venture titled as Kayal which is to release on 25th December.
Never the one to count on ‘star power’ for the success of his films, Solomon has cast newcomers Chandran and Anandhi to play the lead roles in his film. Vincent, Arthi, Gemini Rajeswari, ‘Yaar’ Kannan, Barathi Kannan and Jacob form the rest of the main cast in the film which has music by Solomon’s favourite music director D. Imman.
The film’s audio was launched yesterday in Chennai in which actors Sivakarthikeyan, Arya, Vikram Prabhu, Vimal, Thambi Ramaiah and actresses Anjali and Amala Pul took part. Kayal has been jointly produced by S. Madhan’s Escape Artist Motion Pictures and James’ God Pictures, script of Kayal has been kept as a close secret till now.
Speaking about his film, Solomon says “We have toiled hard to give life to emotions and satisfy the viewers through catching visuals. We shot in many places including the hot Rajasthan and the freezing cold climatic conditions in Leh and Ladakh. Realizing the importance of Atmos sound while watching Life of Pi, I have used the Dolby Atmos sound mostly during the climax,” and adds that the film would be released on Christmas.
