Producer-director Shankar’s much-awaited I, starring Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead and which has been in the making now for more than the past two years, faces an uncertain future in respect of its release in theatres.
The huge cost involved in the film’s making, Shankar’s art of film-making, Vikram’s amazing get-ups as witnessed in the pre-release publicity stills and Rahman’s music have upped the expectations about the film. Arnold Schwarzenegger attended the grand audio-launch of the film held in Chennai a few weeks back. However, the producer is still unable to state clearly as to when the film would be releasing in theatres.
The final stages of post-production work are still in progress and even the film’s trailer hasn’t yet been produced. The makers are aiming to release the film by year-end as January might have a huge release in superstar Rajinikanth’s Lingaa, Ajith’s Gautham Menon-directed Yennai Arindhaal, Vishal’s Aambala and Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain. With a huge budget at stake, the producer would obviously avoid having a clash with such big films at the box-office.
Vikram and Shankar’s fans are awaiting a word from the producer as they are eager to know what exactly makes him announce a date of releasing the film.
