Shruti Haasan, the ‘bold and beautiful’ girl of Chennai, has gone on record stating that she won’t change her style of acting or the way she dresses up in films as per critics’ and others’ needs.
Shruti has become a leading actress in Indian films as she is on top in three languages viz., Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Her latest Tamil film Poojai, which released on Deepavali on 22nd October, has been going great guns despite the fact that it released in theatres on the same day when Vijay-Samantha’s A.R. Murugadoss-directed Kaththi released.
Shruti has had her own share of controversies but doesn’t seem to bother too much about them. It is not often that one comes across an actress who is a most sought-after heroine in as many as three languages. She would be playing Vijay’s heroine in her next Tamil film, tentatively titled as Maareesan, which would be directed by Chimbu Deven.
Commenting on criticism that she went overboard in exposing her cleavage in song sequences in her Telugu super-hit film Race Gurram which released in April this year, Shruti says “The character I essayed in the film had to look glamourous and I did only that; if somebody doesn’t like it, so be it.
In my opinion, my body is like a temple to me and it is upto others to view it in an obscene manner or in a normal manner. I won’t change my attitude for them!”
