Anushka became nostalgic while talking about her role in her upcoming Ajith-starrer Yennai Arindhaal which is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Anushka and Trisha play the twin heroines in the film which has Arun Vijay essaying a negative role for the first time in his career. Vivek provides the comic relief in the film which has Harris Jayaraj scoring music to an Ajith-starrer for the first time.
While Trisha plays Ajith’s wife in the film, rumour mills worked overtime in making a guess as to what Anushka’s role in the film would be. It turns out that Anushka’s love affair with Ajith in the script is rather one-sided. Anushka has spoken about the many one-sided love affairs she encountered and the many proposals students made to her during her school days.
“While I was still in school, many boys were in love with me but it was always they who made the overtures; some of them even proposed to me but I rejected all those proposals. When I rejected them, they looked very pathetic. Ironically, in Yennai Arindhaal…, I play a girl whose love with Ajith is a one-sided affair. The sequences reminded me of my school days,” she reminisces.
The film’s crew said that they needed to shoot for 25 days more and hinted that the film might well release in theatres by end-December. If it happens, it would be Ajith’s second release of the year after his Veeram which released in January.
