Superstar Rajinikanth’s close friend has said that Rajini’s next film after Lingaa might well be the Tamil remake of the 1972 Kannada super-hit film Bangaarada Manushya which starred the late and legendary Rajkumar in the lead.
Raj Bahadoor, one of the many close and trusted friends of Rajinikanth for the past many decades, was speaking to newsmen recently. “ Before Rajini started Lingaa, we watched Bangaarada Manushya together.
After the film was over, I suggested to Rajini that it would be better if he starred in the film’s Tamil remake. Rajini liked the idea and after a few moments, he said he would be starring in the remake version.
“A few days later, K.S. Ravikumar met Rajini and narrated the script of Lingaa and Rajini loved it so much that he immediately said he would act in the film. Rajini later called me over phone and said that he would first complete Lingaa and would then commit himself to starring in the Tamil remake of Bangaarada Manushya,” Bahadoor concluded.
Meaning ‘Man with a golden heart’, Bangaarada Manushya released in 1972 and was directed by Siddhalingaiah. At the time of the film’s release, Rajini was working as a bus conductor in Bangalore while Bahadoor was working as a driver.
As the film’s script is about the efforts of the hero who wants people to take to agriculture in a big way, it is believed that Rajini has decided to star in the film’s Tamil remake version.
