Vijay Sethupathi, the directors’ hero who chooses his films based mainly on the scripts and doesn’t want to get caught in the ‘circle’ of image, stars alongside another hero Kreshna in an upcoming film titled as Vanmam. Debutant Jai Krishna is the director of the film which has music by S. Thaman.
Sunaina, is paired opposite Kreshna. Others in the cast besides Vijay, Krishna and Sunaina are Anjala Rao, Madhu Sudhan Rao, Sriranjani and ‘Bose’ Venkat. Bala B harani is the cinematographer of the film whose story, screenplay and dialogues have also been penned by Jai Krishna, who had worked for 25 years in many films as assistant director under Kamal Haasan.
Vijay Sethupathi and producer Nemichand Jhabak were impressed when Jai Krishna narrated the script to them. The crew camped in and around Nagercoil for more than two months and completed the film’s shoot in a single long schedule.
Jai hinted that there would be some sequences in the film which would show Sunaina and Kreshna sharing some intimate moments but asserted that it won’t look obscene on-screen.
Vanmam was to release on 26th September but hasn’t hit the screens on that day due to some last-minute hitch. It is said that it would be releasing in the next couple of weeks.
