Ramesh has already directed a few Kannada films. Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Jayaram, Nassar, Parvathi Nair, Urvashi and Anant Mahadevan form the cast which also includes legendary directors K. Balachander and K. Viswanath. Ghibran has scored music of the film which is cinematographed by Shyam.
Kamal has penned the film’s story and screenplay. The film’s shoot is in its final stages. It is now reported that Kamal Haasan and Lingusamy, the joint producers of the film, have decided to release the film on 07th October when the award-winning actor turns 60. Kamal’s fans can’t ask for anything more as Uttama Villain would be releasing on his landmark 60th birthday.
Kamal’s next release after Uttama Villain would be Vishwaroomap II which is likely to hit the screens in January next year. Papanasam, the Tamil remake of the Malayalam hit film Drishyam which features Kamal and Gautami in the lead, is to release in theatres next April.
