Dhanush’s ‘punch’ landed up on the pretty face of his heroine Amyra Dastur, injuring her eyes. Fortunately, Amyra recovered herself soon enough to get going and took part in the shooting schedule.
21-year old Amyra, who debuted as heroine in Bollywood through last year’s Issaq, is the heroine in Dhanush’s upcoming film Anegan which is directed by K.V. Anand of Ayan and Maatrraan fame. One of the most popular yesteryear’s heroes, Karthik, reportedly plays a negative role in Anegan which has another debutant in Aishwarya Devan. Ashish Vidyarthi, Atul Kulkarni, Mukesh Tiwari and Jagan form the rest of the cast.
Speaking to newsmen, Amyra said “I’m happy to be debuting in Tamil in Anand Sir’s direction. I loved the script of Anegan and immediately signed up the film. I’m half-Marathi and half-Parsi and didn’t know a single word in Tamil when I took up the film. However, Anand Sir helped me a lot and put me at ease. A few Tamil assistant directors who worked with me in Issaq helped me learn some ‘expletives’ in Tamil.
“I have also done some stunt sequences in the film and did them on my own without using a body-double,” she said. Talking about the injury she suffered, Amyra said “I was standing beside Dhanush when a stunt sequence was being filmed.
He wasn’t aware of my presence and his punch resulted in his elbow hitting me below my eyes. All were shocked when my eyes turned reddish. Dhanush apologized to me and I became alright soon!”
