In hardly a week since its audio and teaser release, Shankar’s magnum opus is being advertised under the banner of Sushma Cine Arts, as they have bagged the rights in Tamil Nadu to release the film.
It is said that the price paid to acquire these theatrical rights is a lump sum. The picture is similar in Andhra Pradesh too, where the Telugu theatrical rights have been acquired by Mega Super Good Films, for a whooping sum of money. Sources hint that the rights were sold at record prices in both states.
It is believed that most part of the demand comes from the stunt pulled off on Aascar Ravichandran’s idea at the audio launch, which was graced by Arnold Schwarznegger.
‘I’ took nearly three years in the making and is an ambitious project for Shankar, Vikram and Amy. Music for the film is composed by AR Rahman and the film has now been confirmed to be a Diwali treat worldwide.
