Regina Cassandra, one of the two heroines of last year’s successful Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, debuted in Tamil films as Laila’s sister in a small role in Kanda Naal Mudhal which released in 2005.
She later debuted as heroine in Azhagiya Asura which didn’t do anything at the box-office. After starring in a few Kannada and Telugu films, she returned to Tamil through Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga as Sivakarthikeyan’s heroine.
Regina now has a solitary film in Tamil with Rajathanthiram opposite Veera of Nadunisi Naaygal fame. Busy with many Telugu projects now, Regina appears to have forgotten that she announced that she won’t appear glamourously in Tamil films. She seems to have an entirely different policy when it comes to Telugu films. Regina’s recent releases in Ra Ra Krishnayya and Power have seen her sizzle in glamourous attires.
Besides appearing in glamourous costumes, Regina has also locked lips with the heroes of the above-said films. While she has told Tamil film-makers that she would be starring only in script-oriented films, she seems to have a different policy in accepting Telugu films. Though Hansika is the heroine in Power opposite Ravi Teja, Regina appears as his ladylove in flashback sequences and has sizzled in a lip-lock too.
The lip-lock had been kept as a closely-guarded secret and Ravi Teja, whose films are mostly watched by family audiences, was said to be very reluctant in going ahead with the sequence which was later shot in an ‘aesthetic’ manner (could it have been shot in any other manner?).
