Superstar Rajinikanth’s millions of fans, who were given an opportunity to have the ‘first look’ of the poster of Rajini’s upcoming film titled as Lingaa, are thrilled to bits. Reports from all the parts of the State, elsewhere in the country and around the world say that Rajini’s fans are going ga-ga about Rajini’s youthful and ever-so-stylish looks in the film.
Directed by K.S. Ravikumar and starring Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka in the lead, Lingaa has easily become the most important and most eagerly-awaited film of the year after Rajini’s animation 3-D venture Kochadaiiyaan which released a few months back. The film, which has music by Oscar award-winner A.R. Rahman, is to release in theatres on December 12th when Rajini turns 64.
Produced by ‘Rockline’ Venkatesh, the third and final schedule of the film’s shoot has been going on in and around the Lingamanakki Dam site in Shimoga District of Andhra Pradesh. Except from releasing the stills taken during the breaks in shoot, the crew of Lingaa has all along been ensuring secrecy about Rajini’s looks and the script.
In this backdrop, the film’s poster was released last Friday on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi. As expected sparks flew on the net and in the newspapers as the posters depicted a very youthful looking Rajini (clad in casuals with his trade-mark sun glasses and a torn, stylish pair of jeans) and also the logo of the film. The design has also been appreciated by the critics.
Rajini’s fans have been re-posting the photograph on their various blog sites and are even distributing sweets and bursting fire-crackers to celebrate the release of the ‘first look’ of their Thalaivar’s latest film.
