Contrary to earlier repors in the media which said that either adult star Sunny Leone or Neetu Chandra would be performing an ‘item number’ in R. Kannan’s upcoming film Oru Oorla Rendu Raja, it now turns out that Iniya (who is hardly known for her glamour) is to perform the dance number.
No reason is given, however, as to how Iniya managed wrest the chance to perform the sizzling song from Sunny Leone (who debuted in Tamil films by a song in Vadacurry) and Neetu Chandra, who has played the heroine and has also starred in ‘item numbers’ too. The song which would be picturized on Iniya has been sung by actress Lakshmi Menon in D. Imman’s music.
Vimal and Priya Anand play the lead pair in the film which has Soori, Nassar, Anupam Kher, Thambi Ramaiah besides Vishakha Singh in a cameo. When the song by Menon was recorded recently, confusion prevailed as to who would feature in the song in the film. Kannan has now clarified it saying Iniya would be performing the ‘item number’.
“The song would be picturized in a decorated open lorry on the Chennai-Dindigul highway for which we have secured permission to shoot for a few days.
Brinda would be choreographing the song which would be shot not in an obscene manner but in an aesthetic manner keeping in view Iniya’s image as an actress of substance. The costume to be worn by Iniya hasn’t yet been finalized.
“I was looking for an actress who could emote well; it is true that we considered names such as Sunny Leone and Neetu Chandra to feature in the song. As Iniya is a trained dancer, I felt it would be better if she danced for the song,” concludes Kannan.
