Actor Jai, whose latest film Vadacurry has been doing reasonably well at the box-office, has another passion in him besides acting. It’s his willingness and interest to take part in car races. Jai becomes the second actor in Kollywood after ‘Thala’ Ajith to evince a keen interest in car racing sport.
Jai took part in the national level car racing championships held in Chennai on Sunday. Speaking about his passion for cars, Jai said “I was eagerly waiting for the day for the championships to begin.
The first two laps are to be held in Chennai and then the race shifts to Coimbatore. The final lap of the event would be held in New Delhi.
“This championship is the base for all those who want to take part in the Formula Grand Prix races. I have been training hard for the past seven years for this race.
Still, I could feel butterflies in my stomach. I would have to finish among the top five which alone would qualify me to take part in the second round. I have been passionate about cars and car racing right from my childhood.
“I started practicing to take part in races after meeting Abdullah, a popular racer. I was doubtful whether I could balance my film career as well as my interest in car racing.
I drew inspiration from Ajith Sir who has achieved a lot in both the fields. I spend my Sundays for practicing while ensuring that my car racing doesn’t clash with my shooting schedules,” concludes Jai.
