Dhanush, the national award-winning actor, has said that winning the national award is every artiste’s dream. Dhanush was taking part at an event organized recently to officially announce the date on which the ‘Idea Filmfare 2013’ awards would be given away. Industry folks say that Filmfare awards are considered next only to national awards in terms of prominence and honour.
The 61st Filmfare awards would be given away on 12th July for the year 2013 at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in the city. Dhanush chatted with newspersons at a press meet called to officially announce the date of the event. Dhanush, who had already won four Filmfare awards in his career, said that Filmfare awards were certainly more important than other awards of this kind.
“It is an encouraging sign that Filmfare awards are given to artistes and technicians in almost all the languages in which films are made; it’s a healthy trend.
It’s the dream and ambition of each artiste in all languages to win the coveted Filmfare award at least once. I too nursed that dream for many years. Though I debuted in films in 2002, I had to wait for many years before I got my first Filmfare award for Aadukalam.
“I then got three Filmfare awards for 3 and want to film the award every year in different categories,” he said. It may be noted that Dhanush’s name features in the nominated list under ‘best actor’ category for his role in last year’s Maryan.
