Almost 50% of the shoot of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Lingaa has been completed, sources close to the film’s Unit inform. Even before Rajini completes the shoot of the film which is likely to release on Deepavali in the second half of the year, it is said that Rajini had already started the preparatory work including planning the script and other things for his next film.
Lingaa has Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka, Nayantara and Lauren J. Irwan as heroines opposite Rajini and is being directed by K.S. Ravikumar, who played a stellar role in the making of Kochadaiyaan by supervising debutant Soundarya’s direction and othe things.
In all probability, Rajini’s next film would be directed by Shankar and the film would mostly be the sequel to the duo’s super-successful Enthiran: The Robot.
It is said that both Rajini and Shankar are very excited about the sequel which is now tentatively titled as Enthiran II. The film is likely to have a ‘special character’ in it on the lines of the ‘Indian’ Thatha in Shankar’s Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian. Rajini is keen to ensure that the film turns out to be the grandest ever film in his career. The budget of the film is said to be Rs.250 crores.
Kalpathi Agoram, who wanted to produce the film, is said to be having second thoughts after knowing the film’s budget; moreover, Agoram and Shankar are not enjoying the best of friendships. Shankar hasn’t yet decided whether to ask Sun Pictures, who produced Enthiran: The Robot, to produce the sequel or to go for another producer such as Reliance Entertainment.
