Yesterday (May 14) actor Sarathkumar launched his home production venture ‘Sandamarutham’ in which he will be starring in dual roles after a long time.
The actor has also written the story for the film which will be directed by A.Venkatesh. It is noteworthy that the actor cum politician will be starring in a negative role in this film after the Vijaykanth starrer ‘Pulan Visaranai’ that released in 1990.
Speaking to pressperson after the ‘pooja’ of the film held in a temple in Mylapore, Sarathkumar said he could not accept many full-fledged roles in films since he was busy with politics. The actor, who won at the Tenkasi seat in 2011 Tamilnadu Assembly elections, has been acting mainly in cameo roles in Tamil films in the past few years.
The list includes ‘Kanchana’ (2011), Chennaiyil Oru Naal (2013) and ‘Nimirndhu Nil’ (2014) and ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ (scheduled to release on May 23). In the same period, Sarathukumar has acted in quite a few Malayalam and Kannada films.
But now the actor is back to full time acting it seems. Apart from ‘Sandamarutham’, he has ‘Velachery’ and ‘Vidiyal’ that are progressing at various stages.
Adding to these actor revealed that he will be starring in a film that will be directed by Mysskin but did not confirm whether it will be in ‘Pisaasu’ which was launched yesterday along with ‘Sandamarutham’ or the next film of Mysskin after he completes ‘Pisaasu’.
The ‘Supreme Star’ also revealed that he is in talks with directors Samuthirakani and Gautham Menon to star in the films they will be directing after finishing their current commitments.
