‘En Swasa Katre’ the film directed by K.S.Ravi with Aravind Swamy and Isha Kopikar in the lead roles was a commercial failure. But the music album of the film was a chartbuster. After 15 years of its release, ‘En Swasa Katre’ will reenter the minds of music lovers, for a song in the film has been taken to a Hollywood flick to be composed by A.R.Rahman who has won Oscars and Golden Globe awards in the meantime.
A.R.Rahman had revealed some time back that he will be using a Tamil song composed by him in the 90’s and sung by Unni Krishnan and Chithra for the film ‘Million Dollar Arm’ the Hollywood project he is currently working. Now the ace composer has confirmed in a recent interview that the song that has been used for the Hollywood flick that will be hitting the screens worldwide this week is, ‘Thirakkadha kaatu kulle’ number from ‘En Swasa Katre’.
As revealed by Rahman, the Tamil song will go on the background when two young kids are shown running into an open field. Rahman has said that the situation is about two kids who have achieved something big and when the lyric ‘ThirakaadhaKaatukulle Pirakaadha Pillaigalpole’ plays along with it, it sounds fantastic.
The song has been selected for the situation by the makers of the Hollywood film who were researching Rahman’s Indian music. They were stumbled upon the song though they could not understand its meaning and they wanted the song to be used for their film.
Rahman has added that he did not make any change on the song since he felt the song perfectly synced with the situation.
Speaking about his Tamil projects Rahman has confirmed that he has finished composing the last song for director Vasanthabalan’s period flick ‘Kaaviyathalaivan’ just a few days ago. The ‘Isaipuyal’ has said he thoroughly enjoyed composing the song since it had elements of classical and folk music.
