Perarasu, the diminutive director who once made films starring top stars Ajith and Vijay in the lead, was in his elements when he took the mike during the audio-launch of Kaadhal Panchayathu held in the city yesterday. He urged newcomers to be humble and realize that they had miles to go in the industry.
“Nowadays, even debutant heroes want an introduction song and want it to be hyped as if it’s a Rajini Sir’s song. I appeal to all the newcomers not to imagine themselves as the next Rajini or Ajith even before completing their first film.
Such songs would only end up in irritating the audiences. You can surely have songs as per your liking and taste once you have managed to establish yourselves in the industry and gain a foothold.
“I also appeal to directors directing newcomers not to make such songs part of the script. When I made Tirupachi with Vijay, he was already an established star but he still had apprehensions in starring in the song Nee endha ooru naan endha ooru…
It was I who convinced him to go ahead and shoot for the song. Despite his stardom, he had apprehensions. Newcomers have to be thoughtful,” said Perarasu.

Jaguar Thangam took the mike and made it a platform to take to task those opposed to Vadivelu’s Tenaliraman. “If anybody attempted to prevent the film’s screening in theatres, we (Tamils) would transform ourselves into suicide squads and would ensure that the film is screened without any trouble!”
