Baharathan is a well known name in cine industry mainly as a dialogue writer. He shot to fame with his dialogues for Dharani directed Ghillie which is one of the biggest blockbuster in actor Vijay’s career. Later on he elevated as a director with Azhagiya Tamizhmagan which had Vijay and Shriya Saran in the lead roles but the film failed at the box office in 2007.
Bharathan however continued his sting by penning punchy and powerful dialogues for many mass hero films. His dialogues matching the larger than life personal of Ajith in Veeram directed by Siva received all round appreciations.
Meanwhile Bharathan has also started his second directorial venture. It will be the remake of Malayalam super hit film Cocktail. The Tamil version has been titled as Athithi and stars Nandha and Ananya in the lead roles.
Bharathan has said in a recent interview to a weekly magazine that, though the film is a remake. He has made some changes to suit the tastes and preferences of Tamil audience.
For example he has extended the scope for comedy in the film with Thambi Ramiah in the supporting cast. The film also stars Senrayan of Polladhavan and Moodarkoodam fame in a pivotal role. Singer V.V.Prasanna is making his acting debut in the film.
Acclaimed music composer Bharadwaj will be making a comeback with this film and S.Jai handles the cinematography.
