In the wake frequent requests and threatening letters to ban the film Thenaliraman, AGS Entertainemtns, the producers of the period flick have issued a official press statement clarifying that the film is based on a imaginary story and not an adaptation of Thenaliraman’s life.
This is expected to lay to rest the allegations of a few less known groups that the film depicts Thenaliraman and the Vijayanagara King Krishnadevaraya in poor light.
Thenaliraman is the comeback venture of ace comedy actor Vadivelu who plays dual role in the flick. Yuvaraja Dhayalan has directed the film apart from writing the script.
This is the text of the press statement from AGS.
“The Tamil film titled ‘Thenaliraman” produced by us is an Imaginary story conceived on the basis of ‘Tenaliraman’ moral stories etc. This film reflects neither the life history of ‘Tenaliraman” nor that of any person with whom said ‘Tenaliraman” is associated with / lived with.
The story of the film is an imaginary one reflecting the life style of people who lived in B.C 15th Century in the back drop of the present happenings and events. All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblances to real persons, living or dead are purely coincidental”.
