Udhayanidhi Stalin has acted as hero in two film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Idhu Kadhirvelan Kadhal and apart from Santhanam, Harris Jayaraj and a few other crew members another commonality in these films is that both the films have been denied Entertainment tax exemption by the Tamilnadu State Government despite the films getting clean U certificates.
Udhyanidhi has been mentioning this in every interview citing this as an injustice meted out to him based on political vendetta and during IKK he went ahead to take the issue to the court. He made an appeal to the court to watch his film and decide whether they deserve the tax exemption or not.
Today, Udhayanidhi’s legal battle has ended fruitful. The Judge at the Madras High Court who heard Udhayanidhi’s case has ordered that both the films are eligible for the Entertainment tax exemption given by the Tamilnadu State Government. This gives a big financial relief to Udhyanidhi, who is also the Producer of both the films.
It is said that Udhayanidhi’s Lawyer cited the tax exemption being given to Dhanush-Sruthi Hassan starrer 3 which included a scene in which the lead hero ties the nuptial knot to the heroine at a Liquor bar and this comparison has played a vital role in winning Udhyanidhi’s case for financial relief.
