Karthika Nair, the talented actress who is not seen much on big-screen, is all set to thrill the audiences with her ‘action-packed’ role in her upcoming film. Karthika plays the solo heroine in national award-winning director S.P. Jananathan’s Purampokku which has a triumvirate of heroes in Arya, Sham and Vijay Sethupathi.
Keen to make a telling impact on the audiences, Karthika has been sending press notes and giving interviews to various magazines/film-based websites on what her role in Purampokku is all about.
Karthika, who made a successful debut in K.V. Anand’s Ko three years back, hit a low with her last year’s Annakodi. Despite Bharathiraaja’s touch, the film bombed at the box-office.
As such, Purampokku happens to be her only ticket to garnering popularity which she so badly needs to stay afloat. She also has Vaa Deal opposite Arun Vijay which has been in the making for the past few months.
The first schedule of the shoot of Purampokku has just been wrapped up in Kullu-Manali in the chilly environs of North India. The crew is all set to move to Jodhpur in Rajasthan where the climate would be exactly the opposite.
“I have had some great opportunity to showcase my talents in action sequences. The role I portray would be similar to the one essayed by Lara Croft in action video games.
Besides this, I have also performed a tape dance in the film which would also drive home the message that I do possess some dancing talent. I remain grateful to Jananathan Sir for having had the confidence in me to sign me up to star in this film,” says Karthika.
She also adds that besides a director, Jananathan might also qualify as a professor of history as he has abundant information stored in his brain on almost all the topics. His general knowledge is simply awesome and unbelievable,” concludes Karthika. With this film, Jananathan also turns a producer as he produces the film in association with UTV Motion Pictures. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the film’s music director.
