Ramarajan denies that he had embraced Christianity
Actor-politician Ramarajan has denied rumours which said that he had converted as a Christian and has since changed his name from Ramarajan to Anthony Pitchai. The rumours emanated ever since Ramarajan appeared on stage in Coimbatore during one of the many religious meetings convened by Christian association.
Ramarajan was displayed as the ‘proof’ by the Pentecostal mission that ‘God could heal anybody’. It is also said that Ramarajan underwent conversion formally at a church in Madurai and then changed his name into Anthony Pitchai.
The AIADMK party high command apparently didn’t like Ramarajan’s religious conversion and has been keeping mum on the issue, it was further reported.
Now, Ramarajan denies all these things and says that the news had been planted in the press by some vested interests who have been working against him. “Yes its is true many of my christian friend prayed for my helath, when I was struggling after the accident and to show my gratitude, I appeared at the function. Iam a Hindu follower, to me, all the Gods are same .
“I’m ready for the campaigning for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The moment Amma (the chief minister) instructs me, I’d be on field campaigning and would be touring all the 40 parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. My only aim is to see Amma becoming the country’s prime-minister,” concludes Ramarajan.
