Vijay, who is acting alongside Malayalam megastar Mohanlal in his upcoming film Jilla which is to release during Pongal in about less than three weeks’ time, is said to have told his producer that Mohanlal should be given preference in title cards as well as fee to star in the film
In order to show the love, respect and regard he has for Mohanlal, Vijay told debutant director that Mohanlal’s name should appear before his name in the title cards.
Vijay’s decision is based on Mohanlal’s stature as one of the best actors in the country who has been in the filed now for more than 35 years.
When Nesan was wondering about how to put the names of the actors, Vijay told him that it wasn’t a big deal. He told Nesan that as Mohanlal is a hugely experienced actor, his name should appear first in the title cards.
“Let my name appear after his name; it’s fine with me,” were Vijay’s words to Nesan. The same decision went in favour of Mohanlal when it comes to deciding his fee for the film.
Vijay told producer R.B. Choudhary that Mohanlal should be paid more than what he himself would be getting as his fee for the film. Vijay fees is estimated to be around gets roughly Rs.15-18 crores for this film, hence Mohanlal has been given the release and distribution rights of the film in Kerala as a compromise.
