Nithya Menon is very different from the present crop of actresses. The actress, who never bothered to maintain a size-zero fiture, takes things in her stride and doesn’t plan well in advance. Lead actress of Sripriya’s Malini 22 Palayamkkottai, Nithya has bagged yet another important film in her kitty in the form of Raghavendra Lawrence’s sequel film Muni-3.
Lawrence, who has had back-to-back successes in Muni and Kanchana, is now making Ganga (Muni-3). While Vedhicka and Lakshmi Rai paired opposite Lawrence in the first two versions (respectively in that order), the sizzling Taapsee Pannu has been signed up to play the heroine in the third film in the sequel.
Talented yet controversial Anjali was signed up to play a prominent role in the script in the flashback story. However, as Anjali remains untraceable and rarely sets foot in Chennai, Lawrence has now dropped Anjali and has replaced her with Nithya Menon. A leading actress in Malayalam and Telugu, the gifted Nithya Menon is slowly finding her way in the world of Tamil films.
As Ganga is to be dubbed in Telugu and Malayalam as well, Nithya has been preferred in place of Anjali, the crew said. Sequences involving Nithya are presently being shot at the DR Garden at Porur on the outskirts of Chennai.
