Vishal is hailed as a ‘gentleman’ among the actors in Kollywood. The press as well as Vishal’s colleagues in the industry love and respect him for what he has achieved in the past decade. Vishal, who worked as assistant director under actor Arjun, debuted as an actor with K.V. Anand’s Chellame and took on an action avatar in the hit film Sandakozhi and continued to star in many action-packed films.
However, success became far and few for Vishal as he continued to dole out action films one after another. He attempted a different role and script in Samar which released early this year but the film’s bad pre-publicity campaign didn’t help the film’s cause at the box-office. Vishal recently launched his own production house ‘Vishal Film Factory’ and produced his latest film Pandianadu directed by Suseeenthiran.
Pandianadu hit the bull’s eye at the box-office after its release on Deepavali a couple of weeks back. Talking about what prompted him to launch his production company, Vishal says “I wanted to put a full-stop to experimenting films at others’ expenses and launched my production house. But I didn’t even want to publicize its launch, as I felt that I had to prove my decision right by delivering a success.
“By God’s grace, I could do so with Pandianadu where I submitted myself entirely in Suseenthiran’s hands. I never got involved in the script-writing or dialogue-writing process and did my job only as an actor and a producer. I never crossed those limits and the result is there for everyone to witness. I shall continue to do so in future soo,” concluded Vishal.
