Over the years, comedian Santhanam has become an inevitable thing in M. Rajesh’s films. Rajesh, who delivered a hat-trick of hits as director through his films such Siva Manasula Sakthi, Bass Engira Bhaskaran and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, slipped up at the box-office in a rather unexpected manner as his Deepavali release All in All Azhagu Raja has come under attack from critics and movie-goers for its below-par quality.
Santhanam essayed characters which were almost that of parallel heroes in all those four films. Except for All in All Azhagu Raja, Santhanam was a quintessential factor in the box-office success of these films.
However, it is now reported in sections of the press that Santhanam is likely to be replace by Suri in Rajesh’s next directorial venture which might be produced by Arya who would also play the lead role in it.
Arya’s latest film Raja Rani turned out to be a successful venture and his upcoming Selaraghavan-directed film Irandaam Ulagam is also expected to do well.
Arya, it is said, has decided to bail out Rajesh who is reeling under the failure of All in All Azhagu Raja. Significantly enough, Arya essayed guest appearance in Rajesh’s other two films and shares a friendly bonding with Rajesh.
