Suriya’s latest film Singam II has just crossed the coveted 100-day mark in theatres all over the State. Released on 05th July, Singam II was appreciated widely for its making in general and for Suriya’s performance in particular. The film touched the 100-day mark last Saturday (12th October) and is still doing business.
With a supporting cast comprising Anushka, Hansika,Vivek and Santhanam and with music by Devi Sri Prasad, Singam II was the sequel to the successful Singam made in Suriya and director Hari’s combination in 2010.
Hari and Suriya have now had successful associations spread over many years and four films: Aaru, Vel, Singam and now Singam II. At a time when a director-hero combination finds it very difficult to re-unite after the success of their first film, it is indeed an appreciable thing that Hari and Suriya have forged a successful association for the past many years and have delivered four super-hit films.
Sources close to Hari say that though the director hasn’t hinted on these lines, it won’t be a surprise if he announces a nod for the shoot of Singam III some time next year.
