Tarun Gopi, the director who made hit films starring Vishal and Simbu in the form of Thimiru and Kaalai respectively, is back to directing films. Gopi had also done a few films as an actor including the late Rasu Mathuraan’s Mayandi Kudumbathar.
After a considerable gap, Gopi is now going back to his roots. He is directing the upcoming film titled as Soodhattam in which he also plays the lead role along with Ramanaa. Sandhya, the promising heroine who debuted with Kaadhal almost a decade back but fizzled out without making it to the top rung of actresses, is playing the heroine in the film.
For Sandhya, who was paired up opposite comedian Santhanam in the recently released Ya Ya, it’s some sort of a consolation that she is finally getting to play a lead role instead of starring opposite comedians. Soodhattam is significant also for Ramanaa, who had been in the industry for a long time now without making much of an impression as an actor.
Srikanth Deva scores the film’s music which is cinematographed by Devarajan. Gopi is also producing the film on behalf of his Thimiru Productions.
