Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan 85th Birthday Celebrations
Viluppuram Chinnaiahpillai Ganesan is popularly known as Sivaji Ganesan. He stepped in to the film industry during later half of 20th century. He was born in Villuppuram, Tamilnadu on 1st October 1928. He is a versatile person to act in different roles. He acted nearly 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The outstanding performance in “Chhatrapati Shivaji” played as Shivaji Kanda Hindu Rajyam. So, he is referred as “Sivaji”.
His first film “Parasakthi” got fame and won President’s Award for more than 12 times. He is well-known as “The Marlon Brando of Indian Cinema”. By the end of his career, he was awarded with notability award of “Dadasaheb Phalke Award” in 1997. He died on 21st July 2001.
