Lanky Anushka has said that her primary objective in starring in films is to keep her fans happy. “We are in the entertainment industry and its main purpose, I believe, is to entertain the audiences. As far as I am concerned, my primary motive is to keep my fans in good spirits,” says Anushka.
Anushka’s last film was the successful Singam II (opposite Suriya) which is racing towards the 100th day at the box-office. Anushka badly needed Singam II to do well as her films such as Thaandavam and Alex Pandian had nosedived at the box-office. Anushka, who would be 32 in a month’s time from now, is breathing a sigh of relief at the success of Singam II.
Deepavali would most probably witness the release of Anushka’s next major project Irandaam Ulagam directed by the mercurial Selvaraghavan. Anushka gets paired opposite Arya in the film, which has both of them essaying dual roles. The film, which has been shot mostly abroad, has music by Harris Jayaraj but it’s Anirudh Ravichander who is now scoring the film’s background music in Europe.
Anushka, an yoga instructor herself is still very conscious about maintaining her shape. “When I debuted in films, there were times when I worried only about my career; thankfully, successive successful films created a change in my thought process. Now, my main intention is to keep my fans happy and to do so for many years to come,” concludes Anushka.
