Daniel Balaji, the menacing villain in Gautham Menon’s Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu is now back with an upcoming film titled as Gnana Kirukkan.
Based on a real-life incident which took place more than 30 years back, the film is produced by Thangammal Movie Makers and has been directed by debutant Ilaiyadevan who has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. Balaji plays the title role in the film which has Thambi Ramaiah, newcomer Jega, Archana Kavi, Sushmita and Uma essaying prominent roles.
Selvakumar is the film’s cinematographer while Taj Noor has scored the music to lyrics penned by Naa Muthukumar, Arivumathi, Kabilan, Yugabarathi and Mohan Rajan. Raja Muhammad is the editor of the film.
Talking about his film, Ilaiyadevan says that when a song sequence was filmed at a village in Tiruvarur District recently, the people of the village and on-lookers could hardly hold back their tears as the song and the film is based on a real-life incident which took place in the village 30 years back. “I have taken up a real-life issue in my effort to present a realistic film,” he concludes.
Balaji is said to have put in the ‘performance of his life’ in the film which is scheduled to hit the screens in the coming weeks.
