Vijay Sethupathi is on a roll in Tamil films and has hit a purple patch since the middle of last year. His Sundarapandian (where he played a negative role) turned out to be a hit and he then followed it up with a hat-trick of hits in Pizza and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (last year) and Soodhu Kavvum (early this year). Showing an intent that he is game for all kinds of roles, Vijay has become a huge hit with the masses.
Sethupathi now has as many as eight films on hand in Kollywood and is easily the ‘busiest actor’ in town. Even as his Pannaiyarum Padminiyum gears up for theatrical release, it is now reported that Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara would be the first of his many releases in the coming 6-8 months. The film has Ashwin, Swati Reddy (of Subramaniapuram fame) and Nandita (of Attakathi fame) in lead roles along with Sethupathi.
Gokul, who debuted in Kollywood as director with the Jiiva-Shriya Saran starrer Rowthiram in 2011, has directed the film which has music by Siddharth Vipin.
