Producer A.M. Rathnam has started publicity works of Ajith’s upcoming film Arrambam with fulverge in online and print media. Rathnam, once a popular producer in Kollywood with successive hits such as Run, Dhool, Khushi, Ghilli and 7-G Rainbow Colony, found his touch desert him with films such as Kedi, Ponniyin Selvan and Dharmapuri. The no-show of Vikram-Trisha’s Bheema completely flattened him.
Just when he was looking for a way out of his crisis, Ajith came forward to star in a film produced by him. Ajith also roped in Vishnuvardhan, who directed him in the super-hit film Billa (2007), to direct Rathnam’s ‘come back’ film as a producer. With Arya, Nayanthara and Taapsee Pannu joining the film’s cast, the film grew in strength with each passing day.
The film had been in the making for more than an year and got its title Arrambam only recently. Ajith’s over-eager fans had chosen their ‘own’ titles for the film and finally settled for Arrambam, Vishnu’s title which apparently had Ajith’s approval. Arrambam is hitting the screens on Deepavali while its audio is to be launched in the city today.
It’s been some time since Ajith has had a Deepavali release and his fans are gearing up to celebrate the ‘maha occasion’. With 40-odd days still to go for Deepavali, Rathnam has just kick-started the pre-release publicity campaign in style by releasing the stills photographs of the film from today.
