Ever since he debuted as music director in his Cousin Sister Aishwarya’s debut directorial venture 3 early last year, Anirudh Ravichander, the baby-faced music director, has been constantly in the news in the past for musical as well as non-musical reasons. He is again in the news now as he seeks to explain his duet songs with Andrea Jeremiah in an upcoming film.
Photographs depicting Anirudh locking lips with playback singer-cum-actress Andrea Jeremiah surfaced on the net late last year. As news spread that Anirudh had purposely leaked those photographs on the net, Andrea got upset and described the photos as a ‘momentary fling’ and said she would have nothing to do with Anirudh in future.
Vanakkam Chennai, an upcoming film which also marks the debut directorial venture of Kiruthiga (wife of producer-actor Udhayanidhi), features a duet sung by Anirudh and Andrea. As the duo has sung a duet together, it was reported in sections of the media that Anirudh had ‘patched up’ with Andrea and the two had become close yet again. However, Anirudh has said that it’s not true at all.
“It’s a fact that we have sung a duet in Vanakkam Chennai; however, we didn’t sing from the same venue. I was in Mumbai and she was in Chennai when the song was recorded. I recorded my part of the song in Mumbai while my assistant had recorded Andrea’s part of the duet in Chennai. Therefore, it’s not correct to say that we sang ‘together’ and have patched up,” he said.
