Raja Rani, which is producer-director A.R. Murugadoss’ upcoming production in association with Fox Star Studios, is to grace screens across the State and elsewhere in a fortnight from now. It was announced yesterday by the makers that the film would be hitting the screens on 27th September.
Debutant Atlee, who had assisted director Shankar during the making of superstar Rajinikanth’s Enthiran: The Robot, turns director with Raja Rani which has been hyped like never before. Critics are of the view that the film’s pre-release publicity in the television and print media and during its making has taken advertising to new levels.
Arya, Nayanthara, Jai and newcomer Nazriya Nazim play lead roles in the film which has music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Santhanam, veteran Sathyaraj and Sathyan play prominent roles in the film which has been awarded an ‘U’ certification by the Censor Board. The pairing of Arya and Nayanthara (3 years after Boss Engira Bhaskaran) and the exciting Nazriya’s presence have added to the curiosity elements about the film.
Says Murugadoss: “I thoroughly enjoyed the film; I found myself smiling and crying in certain sequences. I must say I’m deeply impressed by the film and am proud to be introducing to Kollywood a talented film-maker in Atlee. All the artistes have put in admirable performances and I’m sure the film would appeal to all sections of the audiences cutting across the age, gender and cultural barriers!”
