After the award-winning Kumki which he made last year, Prabhu Solomon has launched Kayal as his next film as director. Solomon is on a row with back-to-back commercial successes in Mynaa and Kumki. Kayal would be produced by by P. Madhan of Escape Artists Motion Pictures.
In keeping with his trend of introducing newcomers, Solomon is introducing as many as three new faces in Kayal: Chandran, Vincent and Anandhi. Popular television host Iman ‘Annachi’ is also essaying a significant role in the film. Hunt is on to select other artistes to star in the film. The film was ‘introduced’ to the press at a simple event held yesterday.
Solomon conceded that Kayal would be a romantic film on the lines of Mynaa and Kumki. “Give me some time to reveal other details about the film,” he said, leaving no room for further questions by the scribes who hardly kept mum after that. Answering a volley of questions, Solomon added that he would call for a press-meet in ten days’ time to explain the script in detail.
R.K. Varma is the cinematographer of the film while Imman scores the music. Samuel is the editor. Solomon pens the story, screenplay and dialogues besides directing the film whose shoot commences today (12th September). Produced at a huge budget, the film is likely to be shot in scenic locations in Tamil Nadu’s Kanniyakumari, Mysore and Shimoga in Karnataka and in the north-east in places such as Meghalaya, Leh and Ladakh.
