On the eve of the release of his film Varithapadatha Valibar Sangam in theatres yesterday (06th September) all over the State, Sivakarthikeyan has expressed confidence that he could be in for a hat-trick of hits as his last couple of films in Kedi Billa Kedi Ranga and Ethir Neechal have turned out to be hits.
Veteran Sathyaraj joins hands with Sivakarthikeyan in the film. Known for their satirical comedies, the duo made very good pair during the making of the film, the crew says. Talking about the film, Sivakarthikeyan sounded upbeat. “It’s a lovely script set in a rural backdrop. I and Suri are prominent in our gang while Sathyaraj sir, who plays Sivanandi in the film, opposes us tooth and nail.
“The clashes between the two gangs have been depicted in the most hilarious manner sans the usual stunt sequences. At first, I was apprehensive in starring alongside Sathyaraj Sir but found him very easy to move with. I’m sure my character as well as Sathyaraj Sir’s role in the film would be loved by the audiences and my fans.
“The film is a laugh riot and is not intended to insult or hurt any community or group. It’s a non-stop comedy and I would be happy if the film is watched in theatres and not via CDs or DVDs,” concluded Sivakarthikeyan, who has also turned playback singer for a song in the film for the first time in his short career.
