Dr Srinivasan, the ‘power star’, was scythed and made ‘power less star’ few months back in connection with money-fraud arrest. After languishing in Chennai’s Puzhal Central and Delhi Tihar Prison for many weeks, Srinivasan is out now as a free man (on bail, though) and so are his antics.
Putting up a brave face, Srinivasan has said in a recent interview that he had been ‘cheated’ by his own friends. “I never cheated anybody and I have been caught in the trap laid by those close to me before I was arrested. My weakness and strength is the same: I believe everybody at face value. Once in jail, I realized that not all those inside the prison were criminals and not all those who are outside it are good souls .een
“I found it tough to stay away from the family. I had been cheated by my own friends who would always be around me. However, I have defeated their designs by coming out of the prison by God’s grace. I have spent as much as Rs.20 crores (?!) so far in making films. I don’t want to name the directors who duped me after taking money from me. I’m sure God would give them a fitting punishment.
“The cops in the prison advised me a lot and after a few days of my stay, they all turned my fans (smiles). Except Prashanth, any actors whom I considered as my ‘younger brothers’, didn’t even bother to visit me while I was in prison. My Lathika Hospital has been looted by my enemies. Three of my films are releasing this month and I have signed up quite a few movies. I plan to meet my fans more often (through big screen) from now onwards,” concludes Srinivasan.
