On the eve of the second anniversary of the theatrical release of Ajith Kumar’s super-duper hit Mankatha, a special ‘premier’ show of the film is being organized at the port city of Tuticorin tomorrow.
Mankatha, one of the most successful films in Ajith’s two-decade long career, was released in theatres first on 31st August in 2011. The film starred Ajith, Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali, Andrea Jermaiah and a host of artistes and had music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Venkat Prabhu had directed Ajith in the film and had boldly depicted Ajith in the now-famous phrase ‘salt-and-pepper’ look. Venkat was sure from the word go that Ajith’s grey-haired look would be loved by his fans and the fans responded to Venkat Prabhu’s expectation by making the film a super-duper hit. Ajith even won as many as 3 awards for his performance in the film.
The New Cleopatra cinema hall in Tuticorin would host a ‘special show’ of Mankatha at 1100 hrs tomorrow to commemorate the second anniversary of the film’s release. The proceeds from the special show would be spent towards meeting the expenditure on education for blind children in the District.
