Journalist’s question on Item Number upsets Aishwarya Rai at press-meet
The usually cool Aishwarya Rai lost her cool at a recent press conference when a journalist asked her about what was her opinion in former heroines deciding to perform ‘item numbers’ in films.
Reports in the press claimed a few days back that Aishwarya Rai, who was to make her comeback in films with a sizzling ‘item number’ in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela, had been replaced at the last minute by Priyanka Chopra. It is also reported now that Sanjay had ‘grand plans’ for Aishwarya’s comeback by making a film with her playing the lead role.
The reporter shot the question apparently to elicit Ash’s response to the ‘item number’ by Madhuri Dixit, now in her mid-forties, with a relatively young Ranbir Kapoor in a recent film. Instead of putting it directly, the scribe asked Aishwarya as to what was her opinion in former Bollywood queens deciding to perform ‘item numbers’ in films. Ash might have thought that he was referring to herself.
The moment the query was asked, Ash retorted at the very next moment saying that the journalist would do better to address the question to the concerned actress(es) instead of asking her. The tenor of her tone did not give any further from for the journalist to speak again till the press-meet ended.
