For Vijay’s fans, today is quite a significant day. After an agonizing wait of 11 days, they finally get to watch Vijay’s latest film Thalaivaa on screen as the film releases in Tamil Nadu today after facing ‘bomb threat’ and so many things which forced the postponement of its release in theatres from the originally fixed date of 09th August.
The fans are planning to take out a huge procession to bring the film roll to Udhayam Cinemas, situated in the heart of the city in a locality which has plenty of fans of the actor. The film roll would be brought to the Udhayam multiplex at around 11:00 a.m. so as to enable the first show to commence at 11:30 in the morning.
The celebrations and the joyous mood of the fans are obvious but most of the fans are apprehensive of the film’s fate as the past 11 days had witnessed the sale of many pirated DVDs of the film. They are hoping against hope that the film hasn’t yet lost its ‘newness’ and would still be watched with interest by the audiences.
The film had already released abroad and in neighbouring States such as Kerala and Karnataka. Twitter has been witnessing an overdose of comments by excited fans of Vijay who have been saying that the film would surely enjoy a 100-day run and that except for superstar Rajinikanth, no other actor can hope to match the stature of Vijay at the box-office.
