Even though his home crowd raved about how depressing a movie Paradesi was for a family watch, some even remarking it insipid, national award winning director Bala has managed to find admiration overseas, with his dream project Paradesi, nominated for 8 awards at the London International Filmmaker Festival (LIFF) !!!

This pre independence saga, inspired by Dr. Paul Harris Daniel’s – Red Tea, is a saddening tale about the plight of an impoverished group of tea plantation workers in South India featuring the young brigade of performers namely – Atharva Murali, Dhansika and Vedhika Kumar in pivotal roles.
Let us hope that when the the final announcement is made on the 18th of October,2013 , Bala finds a worthy mention yet again. Here is wishing him all the best from the Indian film fraternity.
