Ever since his Bollywood debut, which was declared a sailing hit for bagging 100 crores in the kitty, namma Dhanush has become a hot property in Bollywood. Thanks to Anand L Rai‘s directorial – Raanjhanaa earlier this year and a followup with the intensely treated romantic saga of – Maryaan, that reaffirmed Dhanush’s stronghold in the South, directors are flocking in numbers for his dates.
Although, nothing much is confirmed yet, renowned Bollywood directors – Imtiaz Ali and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra have openly disclosed to the press their inclinations towards a project featuring Dhanush as their front man when they walked out of an exclusive screening of Maryaan.
Director Imtiaz Ali, who has to his credit hits like – Jab We Met (2007), Love Aaj Kal (2009) and of course Rockstar (2011) remarked , -” I see a great actor in Dhanush. He is open to working towards good content and I am open to working with him in the future, if our professional commitments line up well.”
Similarly, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra who has to his credit Rang De Basanti, Delhi-6 and the recent blockbuster Bhaag Milkha Bhaag remarked , “Dhanush is someone I see as an icon for happiness. He is here to spread happiness, irrespective of boundaries that separate the north south or any other prejudices. If we can discuss a script together, we shall take it forward surely.”
In response, Dhanush acknowledged the directors at his micro blog when he wrote – “My sincere thanks to Imtiaz Ali sir and Rakesh Mehra sir for such kind words about my performance in Maryaan. I feel super encouraged.”
