Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s latest flick Thalaivaa, which is all set to release tomorrow (August 9), has been facing many hurdles from Wednesday (August 8). Many theatres in Chennai received a threat from the political activists.
On Wednesday, Chennai City Civil Court issued a notice to Thalaivaa producer Chandra Prakash Jain and director AL Vijay seeking their reply from them before August 14. Petitioner SKR Karnan, from Tirunelveli district filed a plea against the movie claiming that the movie has depicted the Tamil community leaders in the poor light, who lived in Mumbai.
The plea states that Thalaivaa’s story resembles the story of SS Kandaswamy and his son SK Ramaswamy, who were the social workers in Mumbai and who saved the Tamil youths becoming anti-social elements. SKR Karnan is the grandson of SS Kandaswamy and son of SK Ramaswamy, he claimed that his grandfather and his father were not involved in any underworld activities, but they were loved by people for their service.
Thalaivaa deals with the story of Tamil underworld don based in Dharavi, Mumbai who will be the rescuer of Tamil speaking people in that region. After his death his son will be back from abroad and lead life in his father’s footsteps.
