The great fighter that he is, Ajith is never known to give up easily. The actor, who has had a record number of surgeries performed on his sore back and still doesn’t flinch when it comes to performing daredevil stunt sequences, has remained a symbol of patience, perseverance and hard work. 04th August marked the 20th anniversary of the actor’s entry into films.
Ajith debuted as hero in Selva’s Amaravathy in 1993. Though the film was only a moderate success, Ajith didn’t give up and continued to star in films such as Pavithra and Vanmathi. Films such as Aasai and Kadhal Kottai made him immensely popular and he followed it up with a string of hits in the form of Aval Varuvaala, Vaali, Kandukondein Kandukondein, Citizen,Villan and Varalaaru followed.
Ajith came into films with no filmy backdrop nor with a ‘godfather’ to back him up. All his successes have been hard-earned and deserving and this is what has made him appear an ‘youth icon’ who has a huge number of fans not only among the student fraternity but also among the young employees of various private firms.
Mankatha was Ajith’s 50th film which was a super-duper success. He is now gearing up for the release of Vishnuvardhan’s Arrambam while he is already shooting for his upcoming film titled Vinayagam Brothers directed by ‘Siruthai’ Siva.
Ajith has been getting wishes, congratulatory messages and greetings from his fans and friends within and outside the industry on the eve of completing two decades in films.
