Finally, we are all set to have a menacing villain on-screen . Film-maker-turned-actor Rajkiran, who has played on-screen father to Ajith, Vijay, Dhanush and Vishal, is finally turning villain. Though there were many tempting offers in the past to play villain including Shankar’s Sivaji: The Boss opposite superstar Rajinikanth, Rajkiran didn’t relent.
Vetrimaaran, the film-maker who has made it known to the critics and moviegoers that he is a film-maker with a difference, has now launched his third directorial venture titled as Vengai Sami which would have Rajkiran playing a full-fledged villain.
What happened to Vada Chennai, Vetrimaaran’s film which was to star Simbu first and then Dhanush in the lead remains a mystery till now.Debuting successfully as producer with Udhayam NH-4 some time back, Vetrimaaran is back to directing films. Critics are of the view that the director, whose Aadukalam won a host of national awards early last year including ‘best director’ and ‘best actor’ awards for Vetrimaaran and Dhanush respectively, has taken a long time to launch his next directorial venture.
Rajkiran, who has essayed powerful roles in films such as Kireedom, Kaavalan, Sandakozhi and Venghai, always ensures that his character is appealing in the film. Apparently at Vetri Maaran’s behest, Rajkiran has agreed to play the villain on the belief Vetrimaaran would not be the one letting down.
